New thingys on my mind :)

I had my "Small Store Retail" class today, where we learn how to run a small business. While I've had this blog for fun, I've never really thought about what I would use it for. That is, until today, when we learned about different businesses that start up because of creations, including the Bonnie Marcus invitations.



how precious are these??? As soon as we learned about Bonnie Marcus (her mantra is "set a goal that scares you") and how her business was quickly expanding, all I could think to myself is- this is something I COULD do....cards. While Bonnie Marcus has gone in the direction of invitations, etc, I think it would be so fascinating to branch off into the holiday card area. My friend in my class (who also has the blog "Velvet Underwear"...follow it, she's brilliant!)and I got so excited by this idea and will probably be working on it this semester. Of course, I get this in my head when most of the major card holidays (Valentines Day, New Years, Christmas) are over, but that's ok! so, just a warning, you may see some Mousey cards in the next few weeks! be prepared! :P

I am....so normal. :P

hahaha this begins my typical valentines day...sneaking hearts onto everything I eat. Coming up next? heart carrots. heart cantaloupes. heart....oatmeal? THATS going to be tricky!

Valentines Day Plans!

Valentines Day!...some consider it "Single Awareness Day," others write it off as a "Hallmark Holiday"...a random day boyfriends are obligated to buy flowers and chocolates and girls have no idea what to get the guys. But despite my single status, I love Valentines Day. Maybe it's because it's my parents' anniversary (adorable, right?!)or maybe it's because I love to eat sweets (....ehhh not so adorable, hahaha) but I think there's nothing wrong with a holiday that encourages friends and couples to exchange affection in forms of words and chocolate. Why don't we do it more often? It's not a test of affection or a competition to see who is "more loved." It is an effort made to prove that people care. Last Valentines Day, my best friend decorated my dorm door. This year we celebrate the holiday together again. What can compete with that? Nothing. I hope none of you pass up this day to cherish others and be cherished. Happy Valentines Day!
